Day 3 in Macau

14.04.19 up early this morning and off to Guia fortress, apparently the highest point on the Macau Peninsula. Walked through a tunnel built in 1937, and through a Church built in the 16th Century. This fortress sits up on top of a hill and is surrounded by walk-in/fitness trails. Mike, Bailey and I walked from there down to the Main Street where we had been yesterday. Walked through a strong Portuguese influence in the architecture, as apparently I kept telling Mike quite  a few times! In the afternoon we walked the hotels, mind blowing! The Venetian is actually made up like Venice with a canal and gondolas running through it and shops as far as the eye could see! We honestly walked miles and the shops never ended! I went to the toilet and when I came out Mike was surrounded by these girls all wanting to touch Bailey. Everywhere we go, the locals stop us to have photos taken with Bailey and just want to talk to her, not us mind you! She just loves it, big smiles for all, enjoying the adoration! We went to a seafood buffet for dinner that night, Mike, me and Bailey. Dessert bar was to die for! Mind you in Hong Kong dollars nearly fell off our chairs when we got the bill! But when you convert, not too bad a price. We were given a whole lobster each, not Bailey of course, she slept through the whole thing! Photos all out of whack, sorry but once again the ability to put captions on photos eludes me! Last day of Mel’s conference today (15.04.19) and then off to Guilin tomorrow.

  1. Looks like you're getting a very good history lesson, and teaching Mike about the Portuguese architectural styles and influences in the Far East!!!! Looks very clean and well cared for, must be a very rich area with all the casino money coming in. It will be interesting to see the change, if any, you see further north. Great photos, gives us a real sense of what Macau is like. Don't let anyone steal Bailey!!! (or Mike). Have fun on the next leg of your trip. Love Pam and Vernon xxxxx
